SVOD Furthering Along

Popcorn Flix has launched an Xbox 360 app as of today which you can use to stream movies to your console in the same way as NetFlix and Hulu — except for free (the service is ad-supported).

“We are excited to offer our free digital movie platform to Xbox Live members,” Gary Delfiner, president of Screen Media Digital, said in a statement. “Now movie lovers can access our free catalog of hundreds of great feature length films using Xbox 360.”

Similarly, Epix has launched a PS3 app where authorized users can stream their content.

“This is another important step in our mission to provide the best content in every way consumers want it, creating better entertainment experiences using our premium content, and by working with technology partners and our distribution partners,” Epix CEO Mark Greenberg said in January when the app was first announced.
